8 Ways to celebrate your favourite women directors with Super Yaki

Super Yaki is all about showing love for movies–the people who make them, star in them and yes, even watch them. They highlight films and filmmakers of all varieties, from fan-favourite blockbusters to unsung heroes of cult cinema. Super Yaki recognises the importance of women in film, and we’re excited to announce our partnership with them again this year for Women X Film Festival 2022. We want to share some of our favourites from their website that highlight women directors. (They may not currently ship some items to the UK, but keep an eye out!)

By Nora Ephron Crop

Show off your love for the director who brought about the golden age of rom-coms (we’re looking at you, When Harry Met Sally) with this crop top.

Super Yaki x Talking Bay 94: Directed by Bryce Dallas Howard

Available in two colourways, this t-shirt lets people know exactly who you want directing the next Star Wars trilogy (or any movie in general, let’s be honest here).

But I'm A Cheerleader by Skylar Verduzco

You can celebrate the classic queer coming-of-age film, directed by Jamie Babbit, with this glitter finish sticker by Skylar Verduzco! Put it on your laptop, water bottle or even notebook.

Super Yaki x Mubi: Written & Directed by Cathy Yan

For those who are fans of Cathy Yan, look no further than this t-shirt from Super Yaki’s collaboration with indie streaming service Mubi, another one of our partners for this year’s Women X Film Festival.

Super Yaki x 'lil Cinephile: G Is for Gerwig (Kids Sizes)

Don’t worry, we have recommendations for kids too! Part of their collaboration with Cinephile, another partner of Women X Film Festival, this cute and minimalist shirt will definitely let their friends know they mean business when it comes to sleepover movies.

I'll Have What She's Having (How Nora Ephron's Three Iconic Films Saved the Romantic Comedy) by Erin Carlson

A must-have for rom-com fans, Erin Carlson’s book explores the influence When Harry Met Sally, You’ve Got Mail, and Sleepless in Seattle revived and redefined the genre.

Directed by Karyn Kusama Sticker

Represent the director of the internet’s favorite sapphic horror flick Jennifer’s Body with this sticker!

Written and Directed by Deborah Kaplan & Harry Elfont

‘90s kids knew seeing this duo listed in film credits meant nothing less than a fun and wild experience, and this shirt is a major throwback to movies like Josie and the Pussycats.
