Whether you're stuck on a second draft, unsure if your ending is working, or simply want another pair of eyes on your script before sending it out into the world, our Winter Script Surgeries are designed to give you focused, constructive development feedback, with the eyes from a development team with producing and festival programming experience.
Usually in November we open up our development books to workshops and script consultations, but this year we’re switching things up to provide more writers with feedback to inspire a whole new round of well written stories for future festival editions and aid production applications.
So…things are limited! We’re only doing 10 surgeries per month, so each month 10 new spots will become available…so grab them quickly!
This will run through the winter, until March when the busy season for Women X programming will commence, so don’t delay!
What is a script surgery?
A Script Surgery is a focused piece of development feedback on your short film script.
You'll submit a script of up to 15 pages*, and a member of the RP Development team will read it and provide written notes on what is going well (because we need the positive encouragement!) what could be better, and most importantly…how to fix it!
We'll look at things like; Story and structure, Characters, Pacing, Dialogue, Themes and ideas.
The aim isn't to tell you how to rewrite your script, or change your vision. That’s the exciting part you’re in control of!
It's to help you see your script more clearly and decide what you want to do with it next.
*We have 2 spots per month for scripts up to 20 pages.
